Oasis, NM is a small rural town located in the Southwestern United States. The town has a population of roughly 5000 people and is known for its rich agricultural heritage as well as being home to some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the region. Politically, Oasis is split between both Democratic and Republican party affiliations. There are two local political candidates currently running for office: Jon Smith, running on the Democratic ticket, and John Johnson, running on the Republican ticket. Each candidate brings their own unique experiences and perspective to their campaigns. Both candidates have actively campaigned throughout the town in order to try and secure enough votes to win their respective races come Election Day. Ultimately it will be up to the citizens of Oasis to decide who they want representing them in government and leading them into a better future.

Here at BestPlaces, we were looking at the voting patterns since the 2000 election and realized that we could express the results of each election as one letter. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
